90 Shades of Hell

The basic riff of '90 Shades of Hell' was written in the early days of me playing guitar, when I first started recording the riffs I had in my head for years. This under the working title 'Project 1218'.

When Keith had laid down his vocals for 'Firebird' I knew that he was the man for singing all songs on the 'Here to Stay' album. And 'Firebird' proved Keith was a king in singing metal songs. Which reminded me of the 'Project 1218' song, which could be the next metal song where Keith could put his teeth in.

And what a performance Keith delivered! The vocals are just killer on this song.

'90 Shades of Hell' is an Annihilator-style song with a staccato hammering beat. The guitar solo required an extremely fast, tight, and a staccato-style player. Per Nilsson is one of the tightest players in the business, playing with a clear tone, high speed-metrome-tight legato parts, almost like a jazzrock player. Per combines all this with unique melodies. I could not be more grateful that Per jumped in on the project! The result is even better than I could ever imagine.

90 SHADES OF HELL

The diamonds in their mirrors are rustier than gold

Smoke ring is coming clearer while youth is bought and sold

The love and hate injected by teenage nursery rhymes

Promises infected by dirty little crimes

90 shades of hell

A crippled carousel

90 shades of hell

The fools are in their spell

Dark words rise to chase the light

The same old moon still burns the night

While all mankind stands on the hill

Their kings and gods bourne to kill kill kill

Born to kill kill kill

Their shameless game is older it’s older than the sea

Blooded murder’s cold burning soldiers can’t be free

Dehumanizing masses they paint their eyelids black

Demons in dark glasses like wolves they run in packs

90 shades of hell

A crippled carousel

90 shades of hell

The fools are in their spell

Dark words rise to chase the light

The same old moon still burns the night

While all mankind stands on the hill

Their kings and gods bourne to kill kill kill

Dark words rise to chase the light

The same old moon still burns the night

While all mankind stands on the hill

Their kings and gods bourne to kill kill kill

Born to kill kill kill
