You're just a bad dream
This is the last song that was written for the 'Here to Stay' album. Initially 'You're just a bad dream' was meant for the third album, but I decided not to wait releasing it, since it's one of my favorite tracks I ever wrote, and the world deserved to hear it ;-)

There are songs that take ages to write and finish, and some songs just flow out of the writing pen. 'You're just a bad dream' was one of the latter ones. Both Keith and I immediately found the right touch.

For me personally I delivered maybe my best rhythm guitar performances ever. The song has a very tight groove which requires extremely tight playing. It took me ages of practicing, but I'm really proud of the result.

A true metal song like 'You're just a bad dream' deserved firing guitar solos. When Christopher Amott and I were having dinner after the Dark Tranquillity gig in Tilburg (November 2022), Chris offered to do some guest soloing, and it was the perfect timing in the writing process of 'You're just a bad dream'.
Chris never disappoints and always exceeds expectations! His guitar soloing is spectacular and takes the song into a new dimension!
